We saw a great turnout this weekend for both Woodbank Park XC (the first of the Manchester Area League dates) on the Saturday and the Gin Pit 5 mile race on Sunday. Cross Country was well attended with 13 men and nine women running, with five cross country Belle Vue debuts: Phoebe, Patrick, Nick, Howie and young Daniel. It was a great day and with the usual banter – finished off with cake (Ginger or Victoria Sponge!) well worth running for. It was also the 26th Anniversary of Belle Vue Racers so our club founder would have been very proud, as I was of you all.
Sunday again brought superb weather to Gin Pit with quite a few runners doubling up and also supporting this event. We had a return of Fiona back to the fold and smiling all the way. Well done also to Ali as he managed to complete both races with a heavy cold – let’s just hope that we don’t all catch it. Lynda
